Born Adrianne Diane Moore, Jill Kelly may well be one of the most prolific American porn actresses of the nineties. Over the course of her 10 year career, and with over 400 movies to her credit, Jill wears the crown of a porn queen. While best known for her work in adult film, she has also made appearances in mainstream Hollywood productions, including Spike Lee’s “He Got Game.”
Jill began working as a stripper as well as feature dancer shortly after graduating high school. After 5 years at her current career, she met and became involved in a relationship with adult film star Tiffany Million, who convinced Jill to accompany her to a porn convention being held in Las Vegas. During the convention, Jill met porn actor and future husband, Cal Jammer.
Due in large part to Jammer’s support and encouragement, Jill launched a sensational career in adult entertainment. Instant fame and success however, took their toll; in January of 1995 Cal committed suicide on the doorstep of Jill’s house. What followed was a media frenzy, prompting Jill into short term retirement from the adult industry. There were rumors of Jill’s lightening-fast rise to stardom being blamed for Cal’s suicide, since he had reportedly been jealous of the attention she was receiving. After several months of seclusion, Jill returned to the business that had made her a sexual icon, and this time with even more success than before.
Jill quickly became known for her lesbian, anal, double penetration, and cream pie scenes. Within only a couple of years, she was starring as the lead in her own films. She wasted no time seeking out obscene amounts of money for the films she chose to appear in, and at the time she decided to venture into directing and producing was being managed by her brother.
Jill is absolutely an entrepreneur in every sense of the word. She founded Jill Kelly Productions in 1999, and was successful on the opposite side of the camera for a number of years. Having quit the company in late 2005 reportedly due to a pay dispute, Jill Kelly Productions filed for bankruptcy in April of 2006. It was reported that Penthouse Magazine acquired the assets of Jill Kelly Productions in its entirety, which included the company’s back catalogue, as well as nearly 60 as of yet unreleased features.
In addition to having carried on a torrid relationship with Million and Jammer, Kelly went on to indulge in a lengthy off-screen lesbian relationship with PJ Sparxxx, as well as short-lived marriages to both fellow porn star Julian, and adult director Corey Jordan. During her relationship with Sparxxx, the two performed a strip show together called “Fire and Ice.” She also had a book of poetry entitled “The Jill Kelly Poems” written for her and published by a fan by the name of Alessandro Porco.
During her illustrious career, Jill received an outstanding number of both nominations and awards, including Best Performer of the Year in 1997, as well as having been inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame. She announced her last performance in adult film in January of 2002. “100% Jill”, as the film is called, certainly lived up to its name. Jill said, “I wanted to make a movie to really define my sexuality since that’s what being a performer in this industry is all about. It’s not big on dialogue or plot. It doesn’t waste any time getting down to the heart of what I like sexually. I’m really proud of it. It’s the perfect send-off.”
While currently having no plans to return to active on-screen porn duty, Jill does fully intend to concentrate wholeheartedly on producing and directing. Jill is currently working on a dancing venture, which would take her on a one year tour across the United States. She is considered a strong leader and a powerful personality in adult film, as well as a stable option for others looking to break in. She relishes control of her own career as well as teaching others how to control theirs.
