Q: You’ve been in the industry now for about 4 years. How would you say you’re feeling towards making a career out of porn?
A: Oh I am definitely in for the long haul. I love what I am doing, and I have no plans to get out at the moment. The amazing thing is, that after acting, there is still producing and writing and directing. So I think I’m set.
Q: You recently signed with Club Jenna, congratulations. Have you always been interested in a contract?
A: Funny thing is, when I started in the industry, it was the furthest thing from my mind. I was traveling back and forth a lot and I couldn’t commit to being in one place. But now, the idea is so appealing! Having a contract is so good for publicity. It’s exactly where I want to be in my career right now.
Q: So something that became news recently, is that you had stopped performing anal on camera. What brought that on?
A: I’ve been doing it for almost the entire time I’ve been in porn. In all honesty, sometimes it just gets too painful. I want to save it for special occasions, or for things like my website. With Club Jenna, I would do anal. It’s all just a matter of circumstance now; I won’t just do it anytime anywhere.
Q: Would you say your career is progressing naturally, or is it a conscious effort you are making to take a more active lead?
A: I have done all that I set out to accomplish in this industry. I’ve done so many wild things that I never thought I would, but I can’t do that forever. So I am moving on from some of that, and you’re right, I am beginning to focus a little more. Now with a contract, and all of the work I am doing on my website, I am pretty happy with how things are going.
Q: Can you please provide a little background in how you ended up in adult?
A: I was in University, and I left that to go traveling. It was amazing. I got to backpack through so many parts of Europe and Chile and Australia. It was when I got to Australia that I started running out of money, and so I wanted to do something where I could turn that around quickly. I started stripping, as well as doing a couple of photo shoots. I put an ad online looking for more work, basically as a model. I was contacted by LA Direct Models, where it was explained to me what sort of money and opportunity there was in porn. It took me about a month before I agreed to come work in the United States. I was still flying back and forth for quite some time, working in the for a few months at a time, and then taking off to travel for a while. At first, I had no plans of staying in the industry, I just wanted to make some money. After about one year in porn, I knew I was staying in. I knew I did not want to go back and finish school and work some boring 9-5. I really did find what I was looking for career-wise.
Q: What is it about a 9-5 that turns you off?
A: Before working in adult, I probably could have handled it. But now, seeing all the benefit of a flexible schedule and a real control over your own advancement, I just have no reason to leave. I get bored so easily, and in porn there is always something new to see and do. Even if I have worked with all of the actors and actresses, there are still new shoots, and scenes, and travel, and new fans and events. It never gets boring, and I really need that in my day to day.
Q: Who are some of the actors and actresses you like working with?
A: I love Jean Van Jean. He is the hottest guy in porn because I love the pretty boy look. I like working with Keeani and Katsumi, and Dani Woodward. Those are all really cool people to work with, and I like watching the scenes I’ve done with them.
Q: You mentioned watching your own scenes; do you watch a lot of porn? Yours, or anyone else’s?
A: I never used to, but I find myself watching a lot of girl/girl now. It’s really hard to get me off because I always know someone in the movie. No matter how obscure, there is always a way to find some connection to one of the actors, and then I think about how I know them in real life, and there is no way I can get turned on. I have actually recently started watching Japanese Anime Porn. I never thought I would, but I love it! I think it’s really hot, and really, really cool. I am completely turned on by watching cartoons.
Q: Do you think you are set apart by your English accent? Does it impact your career at all?
A: Yes I would say I am set apart by my accent. I get a lot of feedback in regards to it, and I definitely think it has helped me score a lot of roles, especially those where lots of dialogue is involved. I’m really into dirty talking, personally and professionally, and in my movies, I just won’t stop talking! Sometimes on set, they have to tell me to shut up! I think the reason I have been able to maintain myself so long in this industry is that I bring something a little different to the table, and that was the goal all along.
Q: There has been a large influx of European stars to America in recent years, what do you think that can be attributed to?
A: The industry in London, for example, is not nearly as big as it is here in the US. There are actually only a small handful of reputable companies to work with. It makes a very big difference that the European fuck well. We are very into our work, and you come over here and the girls are so limp and weak in their performances, in some instances. Girls who work in England and come over to the States know that they are taking a step up, but it does not work the other way. You would not start off in the States and then go work in London, for example.
Q: There is an English stereotype of people being uptight and stuffy? Are you hoping to help quash that, what with being a porn star and all?
A: I think the English get pegged unfairly! There are a lot of wild and nasty people in London, and its usually the people you would never guess. Sometimes the most quiet and pushover-type people are the craziest in the bedroom! Over here, I bet the Mormons are dying to be tied up and spanked and sodomized! Trust me, behind closed doors, there is some freaky shit going on.
Q: Who is one of your closest friends in the industry?
A: Penny Flame.
Q: How did you two meet?
A: I met her initially through the agency we work for, and I guess we had a lot of mutual friends in the agency and the industry as well. We got a lot closer though when we did Blazed and Confused. We hung out for a week and had sex with each other. She is really down to earth, and we found we had a lot in common. I guess we had the fact we both smoked weed in common, too.
Q: How do you feel about smoking weed while working?
A: After that trip, I stopped actually. I just found myself to be so unproductive. I can’t work like that, so I stopped drinking and smoking while engaging in any sort of work activity.
Q: Have you found it hard to maintain a sober lifestyle in the adult industry? It seems that you would be constantly surrounded by partying.
A: When I first got into porn, I was partying all day and all night. You’re right in that there is always something to see and do in the adult entertainment business, and it’s easy to get caught up. But in the beginning, I was attending a lot of those things because I wanted to meet the right people, and make contacts, and get my name out there. But now that I feel like I have achieved so much, I don’t really feel the need to parade myself around like that anymore. I don’t feel like I am missing out on anything, and I don’t feel like I need it. I definitely don’t miss it.
Q: Since you were so involved in the business at first and aren’t really anymore, do you find yourself seeking out friendships that are non-work related as well?
A: Oh yes, virtually all of my friends are out of porn. And I mean, they all know what I do, and they are by all means supportive of me, but they don’t know anything about it that I don’t tell them. When I first moved over here, I knew nobody so I was forced to make friends through porn. Now, I meet people when I’m at the mall, or getting my hair done, and those are the people that are becoming my friends. I meet a lot of people online as well, but I make sure to tell them what I do for a living. It’s so much easier to weed out who just wants to talk to me because they think I’ll fuck them versus the people who I genuinely click with who want to be my friend outside of what I do.
Q: How does dating work for you? I know it can always be tough, since your job involves having sex with other people.
A: The last boyfriend that I had worked in porn. Initially, I think that was some of the attraction that I had to him; that I knew he would know what he was doing. Outside of that, I can’t even imagine how hard it would be to be on the outside and date someone who works in the industry. I can understand why they would get jealous every time you went to work. I thought it could be avoided by dating people in the industry, but that turned out not to be the case either, because that guy ended up being super jealous, and he would be upset that other guys who I worked with would be telling him that his girlfriend was a good fuck. I have actually been dating someone outside of the industry for just a few months, and so far so good. He knows that all it is for me is work, and so far he has been quite supportive. That’s not to say that he wants to watch me do a boy/girl scene though.
Q: Alright that about wraps it up for us here. Any last words?
A: Thanks for reading and thanks for checking me out! You’ll be hearing lots more from me in the new year!
