Swiss Voters Ban Naked Hiking, Rashly.
Voters in the Swiss Alps have banned naked hiking after dozens of German nudists started rambling through their picturesque region with their dirty parts flapping sexily about in the clean mountain air.
The citizens of Appelzell Inner Rhodes passed the law; it will impose a stiff $250 fine to those caught without wearing their lederhosen.
The ban was proposed after the locals started encountering walkers wearing nothing but hiking boots and socks.
"The reactions of the population have shown that such appearances over a large area are perceived as thoroughly disturbing and irritating," the local government said in a statement.
A German nudist website retorted by describing the activity as "a special experience of nature, free and healthy." It continued to comment that "walking in the Alps was an ancient pastime."
